MARS MODULE PROFILE: RDS (Remote Dispensing) Module |
MSI's RDS (Remote Dispensing) Modules are the preferred choice in aviation fuel dispensing systems. Every RDS Module is equipped with premium quality components from world-class manufacturers including Liquid Controls Meters, Facet or Velcon Filters, Hannay Hose & Static Reels, Goodyear Fueling Hose and EBW and Emco Wheaton Nozzles. All valves and piping in every RDS Module are stainless steel construction to insure the highest in fuel quality. Options include a fully welded containment pan and Total Access Aluminum Cabinet enclosure with SS hardware. All MARS enclosures are constructed of 1/8" thick architectural-grade aluminum with formed corner supports, removable side & rear panels; barn or drop doors and water-tight shoebox lid construction. An optional explosion-proof cabinet light and switch enable night-time refueling where required. All RDS Modules are designed to interface with a MARS PFT (Pump & Filter Module) or Submersible Turbine Pump.

TECHNICAL TIP: HOSE SIZE REALLY DOES MATTER |
One of the little-known facts about fuel system design is that pressure drop through the fueling hose can be much higher than you think. For example, did you know that, at 50 USGPM, the pressure drop through 100 ft. of 1" hose is 80 psi? Increase the hose size to 1 1/4" and the pressure drop decreases dramatically to only 24 psi. If you are trying to pump 100 USGPM, don't try it with 1 1/4" size hose as the pressure drop is a whopping 88 psi! Increase hose size to 1 1/2" and it drops to 37 psi. Jump up to 2" size and the pressure drop falls to only 12.5 psi. Amazing what an extra 3/4" can do for your flowrate.... Most fixed base and truck refuelers rarely operate at more than 75 to 100 psi operating pressures. Proper sizing of fueling hose can assure you that you are not wasting most of your system's pressure capacity pushing product through an undersized hose. MSI AT THE PARIS AIR SHOW 2005 |
Every two years, the global aviation community assembles at Le Bourget Airport for the Paris Air Show. From June 13-19 Millennium Systems International was proud to have been a participant in conjunction with the State of Maryland's Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED). MSI's exhibit in the Maryland Pavilion was anchored by a graphic display featuring photos of MSI fueling systems including the U.S. Navy X-Craft Shipboard Helicopter Refueling System, H-14K STARCART, MARS Modules (Puerto Rico) and JP-8 Military Pump Skid (Iraq).
Check back next month for a full report of the air show!
