On the Skids in Qatar... |
Millennium Systems International has recently
completed the delivery and installation of a complete
Jet Fuel Handling System for Al Udeid Airbase in
Qatar. In cooperation with Voltas, Ltd. of India, MSI
provided comprehensive design engineering services
as well as multiple 300 USGPM Truck Unload Skids
and 600 USGPM Truck Load Skids (see photo)
complete with SS Truck Fillstand Pantographs.
Automatic Tank Gauging, Vehicle Overfill and
Continuous Ground Verification Controls, Motor
Control Center and Gammon Sump Separators provide
the customer with a total system solution for this
new Jet Fuel Depot. While owned and operated by
the Ministry of Defense of Qatar, this facility is
intended to service the aviation fuel needs of both
Qatari and U.S. forces.

Honey, I Shrunk the MARS! |
For Jet Fuel storage tanks of 1,000 to 6,000 USG
capacity, MSI has developed a simple but elegant
solution that addresses the need to filter inbound
and outbound fuel as well as periodic recirculation of
stored fuel through filtration to maintain proper fuel
quality. Less than tank wagon volumes of fuel are
generally delivered by fuel transports with PTO-
driven pumps. MSI's innovative MARS RF (Receipt
Filter) Module is equipped with Remote Fill Box, 116
USGPM Vertical Filter and Full Port, Stainless Steel
Ball Valves & piping. A Red Jacket Submersible or
Blackmer Positive Displacement Pump is employed to
recirculate fuel through filtration as well as transfer
fuel to a local DTP (Direct-to-Plane) or RDS (Remote
Dispensing) Module at flowrates from 15 to 50
USGPM. If you are considering a small Jet Fuel
Storage Tank, let us show you how we can save you
big money on your next installation with our MARS
STS (Small Tank Systems)!

FSII Can Spell Filter Problems. |
Fuel System Icing Inhibitor (FSII), also known as
DiEGME, can be a big problem when it comes to
filtration of aviation fuel regardless of whether your
fuel system uses filter/separators or filter/monitors.
Recent problems with filter/monitors used in
conjunction with FSII have led several major oil
companies (ExxonMobil and Chevron Texaco) to
prohibit their use with pre-blended fuel. FSII can
also disarm coalescers in filter/separators so the
switch to filter/separators must be approached with
caution. ExxonMobil has directed that
filter/separators used with fuel treated with FSII
must comply with API 1581, 5th Edition, Category M
(not M100). Both Chevron Texaco and ExxonMobil
recommend that FSII be added downstream of the
filter with an additive injector. Contact Gordon
Johnson at msintl@rcn.com for additional details.
