  • DON'T BITE OFF MORE THAN YOU CAN FUEL!
    MSI Aeroways Skid

Don't make the mistake of trying to use one hose reel to service both overwing and underwing refueled aircraft (even if you equip both hoses with dry break quick disconnects). Customers who try this approach (to save money) usually end up creating numerous operational and safety problems. The safest solution is to use a MARS "Combo" Fueling System with separate hose reels and controls for both overwing and underwing refueling. Available in both open skid or aluminum cabinet enclosure.

REACH FOR THE SKY WITH MSI!
    Wide Range Pantograph

Servicing high wing aircraft without the trouble and expense of a refueler truck just got a lot easier with the aid of a Cla-Val High Reach Pantograph System. Mounted on a heavy duty cart with casters built for military service, this unit comes complete with a 600 USGPM filter/monitor, electronic turbine flowmeter and fueling control valve. The unit is also available with a hydraulic lift deck platform, hydrant pit interface module and optional diesel-engine driven pumping module. Cla-Val and MSI can take you to a whole new level of fueling solutions!

    THE DREADED INVERTED "U"
    Inverted U

The very nature of transferring fuel out of aboveground storage tanks entails traversing the dreaded inverted "U". Nobody ever told you about the inverted "U"? Well hold onto your floating suctions and listen up. The path taken by fuel withdrawn from an aboveground storage tank travels up out of the tank, then horizontally towards the front of the tank and then down into the pumping unit. This up/horizontal/down path is the inverted "U". Why is it so dreaded? Because of air that can become trapped at the high point in the "U". Even self-priming centrifugals can experience suction problems with the inverted "U", unless, like Gorman Rupp's Rotoprime, they are equipped with an integral positive displacement pump capable of evacuating air in the line. Avoid vendors who, in order to reduce price, try to sell you conventional self-priming centrifugal pumps for aboveground tank installations.
